People Can Fly, the developer behind Outriders, has cancelled two projects and will scale down its teams. The studio expressed regret over the developments in a statement on LinkedIn.
CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski attributed the cancellation of Project Gemini to the publisher’s lack of communication about future content riders, while Project Bifrost was put on hold due to concerns about cash flow. As a result, the studio will regroup and significantly reduce its team size.
This is not the first time People Can Fly has faced financial challenges. In December, the studio announced its second round of layoffs in less than a year, affecting over 120 people. The company’s struggles come as it works on Gears of War: E-Day amidst external market pressures.
