Gaming developer People Can Fly has suspended two unannounced games, Gemini and Bifrost, indefinitely due to a lack of publisher support and insufficient funding. The studio is also scaling down its staff as a result of the project cancellations. In a statement on LinkedIn, CEO Sebastian Wojciechowski expressed regret over the situation, citing poor communication from the publisher and inadequate resources for further development.
The situation comes amidst a wave of gaming layoffs, with People Can Fly joining studios like Bulletstorm developer Gearbox in reducing its workforce. Despite this setback, the studio remains committed to other projects, including a Gears of War prequel and the co-op survival shooter Lost Rift.
