Perplexity has introduced a new feature called “Labs” for its Pro users. Labs allows users to run complex projects independently for over ten minutes, performing tasks such as web searches and code execution. This is in contrast to the faster “Research” mode, which performs tasks in shorter intervals. The new feature can be used to create reports, tables, dashboards, or even basic web apps.
Perplexity’s move brings it closer to rival tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, which have taken over Perplexity’s former lead in AI search. Labs is now available on the web and iOS, with Mac and Windows versions scheduled for release soon.
