The Producers Guild of America has released its list of top 10 feature film nominees, with “September 5” emerging as a strong contender for the Oscars. The announcement was delayed due to ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, but the guild is considered one of the most accurate predictors of Oscar winners.
This year’s PGA nominees include films that favor studio blockbusters and international releases, which aligns with the Academy Awards’ approach. However, two films, “Sing Sing” and “Nickel Boys,” are still on the bubble for a best-picture nomination. The PGA list is particularly good news for “September 5,” which received a Golden Globe nomination for best drama.
The top four nominees across all guilds this season include “Anora,” “Conclave,” “Emilia PĂ©rez,” and “A Complete Unknown.” These films, along with “The Brutalist” and “Wicked,” are expected to receive significant Oscar mentions. The PGA ceremony will take place on February 8 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
The full list of nominations can be found on the Producers Guild’s website.
