The PGA TOUR has established a new committee to redefine its competitive model, aiming for significant change that enhances the tour’s value to fans, players, and partners. The nine-member Future Competition Committee, chaired by Tiger Woods, will review the current system and shape the future of competition.
Three key principles guide the committee: parity, scarcity, and simplicity. The goal is to strengthen the merit-based structure, increase fan engagement, and connect the regular season and postseason more effectively.
The committee aims to honor traditional aspects of the game while introducing changes that benefit all stakeholders. PGA TOUR CEO Brian Rolapp emphasized the importance of getting the product right, partnering with the right organizations, and pleasing fans.
The diverse committee includes six player representatives from various profiles and three business advisors to ensure a collaborative approach. Key members include Tiger Woods, Patrick Cantlay, Adam Scott, Camilo Villegas, Maverick McNealy, Keith Mitchell, Joe Gorder, John Henry, and Theo Epstein.
