Philip Morris Sees Strong Growth for 2025 Amid Nicotine Pouch Demand

Philip Morris International (PMI), the world’s largest cigarette maker, has forecast better-than-expected profit growth for 2025. The company’s fast-growing nicotine pouch brand ZYN is expected to see significant shipments in the US, with a predicted increase of 34% to 41%. This growth will be driven by smokers seeking alternative ways to get a nicotine buzz amid concerns about tobacco health consequences.

PMI also predicts 10% to 12% growth for its IQOS shipments. The company’s Chief Financial Officer, Emmanuel Babeau, said that ZYN, IQOS, and traditional cigarette business would deliver strong growth in 2025, supporting both the top and bottom line.

The forecast is ahead of analysts’ estimates, sending PMI shares up nearly 10%. This growth will be driven by the success of ZYN, which received a formal license to market in the US due to its lower risk of serious health conditions.
