Philips Hue has officially announced its new Philips Hue Play Wall Washer light, previously leaked by Amazon UK earlier this month. The company has also launched its new Philips Hue AI assistant in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, with a broader global release expected by the end of August.
The new ambient wall light is now available for purchase in Europe, the US, and Canada in black or white finishes. Priced at $219.99 for a single unit or $384.99 for a two-pack, it’s more expensive than similar products but offers twice the brightness of other lights on the market.
Key features include an aluminum matte finish, adjustable LED light dispersion, and compatibility with voice assistants like Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa, and Google Assistant. The Wall Washer also responds to HDMI Sync box and sync apps, providing a seamless viewing experience.
Philips Hue’s new generative AI assistant has launched in select European countries, allowing users to create custom lighting scenes or adjust existing ones based on voice prompts or text input. The assistant can also be used to fine-tune brightness and color settings. Additional features like automations, schedules, and in-app support via a chatbot are expected later this year.
