Piastri Sets Pace Ahead of Qualifying at Abu Dhabi GP

McLaren driver Oscar Piastri topped the timesheets in the final practice session for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, beating out teammate Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton by nearly two-tenths of a second. This result has left the battle for pole position wide open.

The team’s strong form continued with McLaren leading the field in both FP2 and FP3 sessions. Piastri clocked a lap time of 1m 23.433s, with Norris trailing behind by almost two seconds. The gap between McLaren and their nearest rivals was around four-tenths, which bodes well for their constructors’ championship hopes.

Other teams, including Mercedes, Red Bull, and Ferrari, also showed promising speed, but Haas drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen struggled to match their pace in the top 10. The qualifying session is now crucial in determining the order of the field.
