Pinterest Inc. has delivered a solid performance in its holiday quarter, beating expectations with strong revenue and giving an optimistic outlook for the current period. The company’s advertising business continues to grow, despite increased competition from larger rivals.
In its latest financial report, Pinterest posted revenue of $837 million to $852 million for the current period, surpassing analysts’ average estimate of $835 million. Profit, excluding certain items, is expected to be $155 million to $170 million, higher than Wall Street’s projection of $141 million.
The company also exceeded analyst expectations for fourth-quarter sales and user growth. This positive performance has led to a surge in Pinterest shares, which rose more than 18% in late trading.
