The Pitt swimming and diving team had a successful first day at the ACC Championships. Cameron Cash, a three-time ACC Medalist, won bronze on the 3-meter with a score of 397.70. This marks his second consecutive ACC Championship title on this event.
Avery Kudlac led off the women’s 800 free relay team to set the school record with a time of 7:03.77, surpassing the previous seven-year-old mark. The team also finished seventh overall, securing their best ACC finish in that event in program history.
The men’s 800 free relay team broke the school record with a time of 6:16.70, while the women’s 200 medley relay team won their heat and finished ninth. Sophie Yendell’s 50 fly split of 22.08 was one of the fastest in the country this year.
Pitt divers scored in the top 24 of their competitions, with Rachel Dickerson taking 13th place, Megan Iannon finishing 19th, and Chase Marafioto placing 21st. The team looks to build on its strong performances in the second day of competition.
