Google has updated its At-a-Glance widget on the Pixel devices with a new high-contrast design that makes it easier to read. The feature adds a semi-transparent, pill-shaped background behind the text, making it easier to see weather updates and other information even on bright or busy wallpapers.
This change addresses the widget’s legibility issues, which were often caused by its direct overlay on top of the wallpaper. With the new design, users can now easily switch between light and dark text modes using a simple toggle in the widget’s settings.
The update is currently available for users running Android 16 QPR3 Beta, but it will be rolled out gradually to other devices and regions. This change is a significant improvement to the Pixel experience, making it easier for users to stay informed without sacrificing their wallpaper style.
