Plane Crash in São Paulo Kills at Least Two People

A small airplane has crashed into a busy street in São Paulo, Brazil, killing at least two people. The plane, a twin-engine Beech F90 King Air, was heading to Porto Alegre when it collided with a bus on Marques de Sao Vicente Avenue around 7:20 a.m. local time on Friday.

Multiple others traveling in vehicles near the crash site were injured by flying debris. The control tower lost contact with the plane just minutes after takeoff from Campo de Marte Airport, according to Sky News.

Five victims were rescued at a bus stop following the plane crash, and survivors were transported to nearby hospitals, CNN reported. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The incident is the latest in a string of fatal plane crashes in Brazil, with another small plane crashing into an area of Philadelphia last Friday, killing all seven people on board and one person on the ground.
