PlayStation celebrated its 30th anniversary on December 3, and to mark the occasion, Sony Interactive Entertainment hosted the 2024 PlayStation Partner Awards in Japan. The event recognized exceptional games developed by Japanese and Asian developers released on legacy PlayStation platforms over the past 30 years.
The Grand Award was given to Black Myth: Wukong (Game Science Interactive Technology), Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (FromSoftware, Inc / Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc.), and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (Square Enix Co. Ltd.). The top three titles with the highest worldwide sales between October 2023 and September 2024 were recognized for their commercial success.
Other notable winners include Dragon’s Dogma 2 (Capcom Co., Ltd.) with a Partner Award, Rise of the Ronin (SIE, developed by Koei Tecmo) and Stellar Blade (SIE, developed by Shift Up) receiving a Special Award, and Genshin Impact (HoYoverse), Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (Sega), Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (Square Enix Co. Ltd.), Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (FromSoftware, Inc / Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc.), Black Myth: Wukong (Game Science Interactive Technology), and Natlan from Genshin Impact’s sixth nation.
The winners expressed their gratitude to their players and PlayStation for the prestigious awards. The event marked a significant milestone in PlayStation’s journey, reflecting the precious memories shared with players and the long-lasting partnership between PlayStation and game developers.
