PlayStation State of Play Recap: New Releases and Game Reveals

Sony’s February State of Play event was a highly anticipated event for gamers, delivering a slew of release dates and new game reveals. The highlight of the event was Borderlands 4’s announcement, locking down a September 2025 release date. The trailer showcased the game’s signature blend of co-op action and RPG elements.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater also received a release date, set for August 28th. The game boasts impressive graphics in Unreal Engine 5, while retaining its connection to the original’s art direction.

A new sci-fi horror game from Supermassive Games was revealed, titled Directive 8020. The game takes place on an asteroid and follows astronauts trying to save humanity from an alien threat. A new prequel DLC for Lies of P also dropped, set for release this summer.

Additionally, the event saw a remake announcement for Days Gone, coming to PS5 and PS5 Pro in April 2025. This remaster promises improved graphics and a fresh experience for fans of the original game.
