Pokémon GO is introducing new Generation 8 Ice-types as part of the upcoming Cozy Companions event. The event will take place from August 6 at 10:00 AM to August 12 at 8:00 PM local time and will feature a variety of bonus opportunities, including double XP for hatching eggs, increased friendship level increases through Gifts and trades, and faster party play rates.
Two new Ice-type Pokémon, Snom and Frosmoth, will make their debut during the event. Players who capture Snom will need to earn 400 Snom Candy to evolve it into Frosmoth after earning 10 Hearts with the Pokémon as their buddy. This evolution is only possible at night.
Other bonus opportunities include increased wild spawn rates for several Pokémon, including Abra, Geodude, and Shelmet, which may appear in Shiny form. Shiny Tandemaus will also be available during the event, with party play increasing its encounter rates.
The Cozy Companions event is part of a busy August schedule for Pokémon GO, which includes Fossil Research Day on August 2 and the August 2025 Community Day on August 30.
