Former FBI agent George Olivo administered a polygraph test to Shannon Price, the ex-wife of late actor Gary Coleman. The test was part of A&E’s Lie Detector: Truth or Deception series. Price was questioned about the details surrounding Coleman’s fatal fall in 2010.
The results were inconclusive on two questions, with Price answering that she never struck Coleman and intentionally withheld help during his fall. However, the third question revealed a failed test due to deception, indicating that Price may not be telling the whole truth about her involvement in Coleman’s death.
Olivo, who has been doing private polygraphs for five years, explained that he would have asked more targeted questions if he were investigating the case independently. He noted that people often fidget or try to manipulate their physiological responses during tests, which can lead to inconclusive results.
The polygraph test is not admissible in court, and Olivo stressed that his expertise lies in detecting deception through verbal and nonverbal indicators, rather than solely relying on polygraph equipment.
Olivo’s results suggest that there may be more to the story of Coleman’s death than Price is letting on. The episode airs Thursday, July 10, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, giving viewers a chance to see the full investigation and hear from Olivo directly.
