Pope Francis has launched a historic jubilee year for Roman Catholics at St Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. On Christmas Eve, he unveiled the Holy Door, which is only opened once every 25 years.
The opening of the door marks a significant event in the Catholic calendar, as it allows pilgrims to seek forgiveness for their sins and embark on a special journey. More than 30 million Catholics are expected to travel to Rome to pass through the door, making it one of the largest gatherings of its kind.
