Porsche’s rear-engined sports car, the Carrera, has seen a significant price increase in the United States market. The base model now costs $7,855 more than its predecessor, making it the priciest Carrera yet.
The price hike, which amounts to 7%, may seem modest compared to previous years’ increases. However, for customers, this means that the new 2026 model year will be even more expensive than before.
On a positive note, Porsche has added standard features across its lineup, including an upgraded infotainment system and leather options. The Carrera’s destination charge has been increased from $1,995 to $2,250, while the Black Leather Package is now standard.
Coupes also come with roof-rack prep, and the German automaker has introduced new paint colors, USB-C ports, and decals for select models. The 2026 Porsche 911 Carrera in coupe form costs almost $20,000 more than its predecessor, rivaling the Corvette Z06 Coupe 3LZ.
The rest of the 911 lineup includes the manual-only Carrera T, PDK-only Carrera S, hybrid GTS, all-wheel-drive Turbo and Turbo S, and track-oriented GT3 twins. Notably, only the Carrera 4 GTS is available with a targa top.
For calendar year 2026, Porsche plans to introduce hybrid assistance in the Turbo and Turbo S models as part of its 992.2 phase. The GT3 will also consider either a hybrid setup or turbos to comply with Euro 7 regulations, potentially affecting manual availability.
The most powerful 911 to date, the 991.2 GT2 RS, is set to return with a new hybrid turbo powertrain in the 992.2 lineup. With its 691 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque, this high-performance vehicle is sure to attract enthusiasts.
