Porsche has announced updates to its 911 GT3 R and 911 Cup race cars, set to debut in the 2026 season. The revamped vehicles boast enhanced handling, aerodynamics, and drivability.
The updated 911 GT3 R features improved cooling and balance, while the 911 Cup boasts better brakes and controls. Both cars retain their powerful flat-six engines.
Key upgrades for the 911 GT3 R include louvered ducts in the front wheel arches to enhance aerodynamic balance, improved fluid cooling for the electrohydraulic power-steering system, and a modified rear axle to reduce “squatting” during hard acceleration.
The 911 Cup features improved aerodynamic downforce with integrated fender vents, optimized front-end airflow, and revised rear wing supports. The car also boasts increased brake size and improved driver comfort with a multi-function steering wheel and enhanced padding.
Both cars are designed for the 2026 season and will be available in North America, Germany, Asia, and the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. Pricing details have not been announced, but the vehicles are expected to retail in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
