Possible Measles Exposure at Denver International Airport Warned

Colorado health officials are warning about a possible measles exposure at Denver International Airport’s Concourse C after an out-of-state traveler arrived with a confirmed case of the disease last week. The incident occurred on August 12, when two flights were in the same area – one arriving and one departing.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) advises that anyone who was in Concourse C during the late afternoon or early evening on that day should be aware of possible measles symptoms, which can appear within 21 days. These symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, and red eyes, followed by a rash.

Getting vaccinated with the MMR vaccine is the best way to protect against measles. The CDPHE has also confirmed another case of measles in Mesa County on the Western Slope, although the vaccination status of the affected individual is unknown.
