Similarly, Joey Bart, Luis García Jr., and Jurickson Profar found their groove after years of underwhelming performances. Post-hype sleepers offer value for fantasy managers willing to take a chance.
Nolan Schanuel, 1B, Los Angeles Angels (ADP: 257.2), is a top pick among post-hype sleepers. Despite lacking power, he’s developed excellent on-base skills and above-average speed. As he fills out physically, he could hit 20 home runs.
Brandon Pfaadt, SP, Arizona Diamondbacks (ADP: 184.2), has shown improvement in his strikeout and walk rates while allowing fewer barrels and lower exit velocities. With continued growth, the 26-year-old can become a No. 3 mixed-league starter.
Gavin Williams, SP, Cleveland Guardians (ADP: 214.3), is a first-round pick with spectacular minor league numbers. Despite an elbow injury, he raised his average fastball velocity to 96.6 mph and showed improvement in Spring Training reports.
MacKenzie Gore, SP, Washington Nationals (ADP: 220), has figured out how to rack up whiffs and improved his average fastball velocity. He still needs to reduce his walk rate but made steady progress in that area last season.
Jonathan Aranda, 1B/2B, Tampa Bay Rays (ADP: 253.3), was an on-base machine in the minors but stalled in the majors. Despite going undrafted, he has a path to the DH role and could offer value with his plate skills.
Bo Naylor, C, Cleveland Guardians (ADP: 260.7), had a disappointing year due to poor plate discipline but remains just 25 years old. He can get back on track and offers 10-steal potential, along with 15-20 homers and a .240 average.
