Powerball Jackpot Reaches $700 Million Ahead of Saturday Drawing

The Powerball jackpot has reached an impressive $700 million for the upcoming Saturday, Aug. 23 drawing. This marks the third jackpot win in four months, with previous winners earning prizes of $328.5 million and $527 million.

To play, tickets cost $2 and can be purchased at various locations, including convenience stores, gas stations, and grocery stores. Players must choose six numbers: five white balls from 1 to 69 and a red Powerball from 1 to 26. An optional “Power Play” feature can increase winnings for non-jackpot prizes.

No one has won the $700 million jackpot yet, but there have been recent winners in other draws. The next drawing will take place on Monday, Aug. 25, just after 11 p.m. ET.

A person matching all five numbers and the Powerball can choose a one-time cash payment of $316.3 million. For more information, visit the official lottery website or check out Jackpocket, the official digital lottery courier for the USA TODAY Network.

Players can also purchase tickets online in select states and territories through the Jackpocket app. The app allows users to pick their game and numbers, place orders, see their ticket, and collect winnings using their phone or home computer.
