PowerToys has released an update (version 0.95.1) that fixes a bunch of bugs, including one that made its light mode feature called Light Switch enable itself on installation. This meant users didn’t know what was happening to their PC’s theme, which changed randomly between light and dark modes. The company has fixed this issue by making Light Switch only active when you manually turn it on.
The update also fixes problems with other tools, such as CmdPal, which can now handle filters without crashing, Find My Mouse, which no longer puts the cursor in a busy hourglass status, and even the bug report system. The most significant changes are related to Light Switch, where the feature has been improved for clarity, and some bugs that made it behave unexpectedly have been fixed.
The update is available for download now, and as this one focuses on fixing existing issues rather than introducing new features, it’s a welcome step towards improving PowerToys’ stability.
