Prime Video’s Carrie Cast Confirmed, Including Summer Howell and Matthew Lillard

Prime Video has confirmed its lead cast for the TV adaptation of Stephen King’s classic horror novel Carrie. The talented young actress Summer Howell will play the titular role of Carrie White, a bullied high schooler with telekinetic powers. Howell was previously in talks with Deadline back in April.

The new cast also includes Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle, Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White (Carrie’s domineering mother), Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, Josie Totah as Tina, and Arthur Conti as Billy.

Writer Mike Flanagan is behind the project, which will also see him direct select episodes. The series is executive produced by Trevor Macy for Amazon MGM Studios. Other notable cast members include Joel Oulette as Tommy and Carrie’s father’s sudden death sets off a chain of events that changes Carrie’s life forever.

The novel has been previously adapted for the big screen twice, with Sissy Spacek playing Carrie in 1976 and ChloĆ« Grace Moretz in 2013. With its talented young cast and veteran writer-director Mike Flanagan at the helm, Prime Video’s Carrie adaptation is shaping up to be a thrilling reimagining of Stephen King’s classic horror novel.
