Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson will not attend King Charles’ Christmas celebration at Sandringham House, alongside their daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. The Duke and Duchess of York will likely spend the day at their Windsor Castle residence, the Royal Lodge.
The news comes amid controversy surrounding Prince Andrew’s recent contact with a Chinese businessman, Yang Tengbo. In a statement, Andrew claimed to have cut ties with Tengbo after receiving advice from officials, but denied discussing sensitive matters with him.
Tengbo was previously described as a “close confidant” of Prince Andrew’s but has denied being a spy. This revelation comes as King Charles III strips Prince Andrew of his allowance amid the ongoing eviction war over their £38m royal estate.
It is unclear if Prince Andrew or his family will attend other Christmas traditions, including a family gathering on December 19. Buckingham Palace has not responded to requests for comment.
