Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has been accused of “harassment and bullying at scale” by the chair of his charity, Sentebale. Dr. Sophie Chandauka made the claims in an interview with Sky’s Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips.
Dr. Chandauka alleged that Prince Harry released damaging news about her without informing her or other key officials, causing harm to 540 individuals affected by the charity. She described this as an example of harassment and bullying on a large scale.
However, a source close to former Sentebale trustees has disputed Dr. Chandauka’s claims, saying they are “completely baseless”. The ex-trustees have stated that they resigned due to disagreements with Dr. Chandauka over the charity’s focus on fundraising in Africa.
Prince Harry and his co-founder Prince Seeiso of Lesotho released a statement earlier this week, citing irreconcilable differences with the board of trustees and Dr. Chandauka specifically. They stated that the relationship had broken down beyond repair due to disagreements over governance and management issues.
The charity was established in 2006 to support children and young people affected by HIV and AIDS in southern Africa. Prince Harry founded it after spending time in Lesotho on a gap year in 2004.
