Prince Harry Appealing High Court Ruling on UK Security Arrangements

Prince Harry has appeared before the Court of Appeal, arguing that he was unfairly treated by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) when they changed his security arrangements last year. The Duke of Sussex claims that Ravec failed to follow standard procedures in evaluating the risks facing him.

Harry’s barrister, Shaheed Fatima KC, argued that Ravec did not provide expert analysis on the potential dangers before making the decision to change Harry’s security measures. This is despite a previous High Court ruling last year stating that there was no unlawfulness in Ravec’s decision.

The government has rejected this argument, calling it “based on small parts of the evidence” and suggesting that it involves failing to see the bigger picture. The hearing will continue tomorrow with more from the government’s case, and a final judgment is due in writing at a later date.
