Prince Harry opened the seventh edition of the Invictus Games in Canada, calling on competitors to overcome challenges and divisions worldwide. The Duke of Sussex co-founded the games with wounded military veterans, which feature over 500 athletes competing in 11 events. In his emotional speech, Prince Harry honored Canada’s indigenous First Nations peoples and told competitors they saved themselves through the games. US President Donald Trump recently expressed support for Prince Harry, stating he would leave him alone, despite criticism from some activists about Prince Harry’s US visa status.
The Invictus Games began in London in 2014, with subsequent competitions held in the US, Canada, Australia, and other countries. The event featured musical performances by Katy Perry, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and Nelly Furtado.
