Prince Harry Seeks Reconciliation with Royal Family After Losing Security Appeal

Prince Harry has told the BBC that he wants “reconciliation” with the Royal Family, saying he is “devastated” over losing a legal challenge to secure his family’s protection in the UK.

In an emotional interview, Prince Harry described feeling “let down” and said the decision to remove his automatic security entitlement had “uncovered my worst fears”. He claimed that the Royal Household’s decision-making process was influenced by politics rather than law, and accused them of attempting to “stitch me up”.

The Duke of Sussex spoke about his desire for reconciliation with his family, particularly after losing a court appeal over his security. He said he had forgiven those who disagreed with him and wants to move forward.

Prince Harry’s decision not to pursue further legal action comes as the Court of Appeal dismissed his case, citing that while he made powerful arguments, his “sense of grievance” did not translate into a legal argument.

The prince expressed concern over the impact of the security changes on his family, including his children, and said it has left him feeling vulnerable. He called on UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and Home Secretary Yvette Cooper to intervene in his security case.

Prince Harry spoke about the importance of ensuring public figures’ safety, saying “whether you’re the government, the Royal Household, whether you’re my dad, my family – despite all of our differences, do you not want to just ensure our safety?”
