For the second time in three days, the Producers Guild of America has postponed its annual awards nominations announcement due to the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires. The guild cited “care and concern” for those affected by the fires.
The decision comes after previous postponements on January 9 and rescheduled announcements. The current two largest wildfires, the Palisades and Eaton blazes, have charred nearly 38,000 acres, with at least 16 people dead and tens of thousands under evacuation orders or warnings.
Firefighters made progress overnight ahead of another round of strong Santa Ana winds forecast to pick up later today. However, no further updates were announced on the Oscars or WGA Awards, which also faced postponements due to the fires.
