Project Runway contestant Sha’Vi Lewis, who competed on season 18 in 2019, has passed away at the age of 39. His aunt Deidra DivaDoll Elkerson confirmed his death in a Facebook post, and Lewis’s sister Akira also shared a statement with TMZ.
According to Elkerson, Lewis left behind a loving family that will be deeply missed. She expressed her grief on social media, saying she would no longer hear her nephew’s familiar greetings but instead imagine him in a better place surrounded by loved ones who had passed before him.
Lewis was an accomplished fashion designer and entrepreneur. After graduating from Clark Atlanta University, he pursued fashion design and created his own clothing line. He also worked as creative director for menswear company Stephen F. and designed for Pose season 2, among other projects.
His fellow contestants Brittany Allen and Nancy Volpe Beringer mourned Lewis’s loss on social media, sharing heartfelt tributes and condolences with their fans. They remembered Lewis’s love, laughter, and continued support during difficult times, describing him as a shining star in the fashion community.
