Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the free PlayStation Plus Essential games for May 2025. Starting June 3, subscribers can download NBA 2K25, Alone in the Dark, and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. Additionally, PS Plus Essential subscribers will receive the expansion Destiny 2: The Final Shape on May 28.
NBA 2K25 is a basketball simulation game featuring ProPlay technology that translates real NBA footage into engaging gameplay. It includes various modes such as MyCareer, MyTeam, and The W, showcasing WNBA players from different eras. The game will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Alone in the Dark is a survival horror classic reimagined for 2024, starring David Harbour and Jodie Comer as dual protagonists. It will be playable on PS5.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is an action platforming game inspired by Jet Set Radio, where graffiti crews battle each other for street control using inline skates, skateboards, and BMX bikes. The game will also be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape is a major expansion for Bungie’s shared-world sci-fi shooter, where players journey into the heart of the Traveler to put an end to the War of Light and Darkness. It will be available on PS4 and PS5.
The games are free to download through June 30, while subscribers can still access May 2025’s titles, including Ark: Survival Ascended, Balatro, and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, until June 2.
