Purdue Football Looks to Win Third Straight Big Ten Title

Purdue football is gearing up for another season, with a strong roster and high expectations. The team has added several transfer targets, including former four-star receiver, Luke Raab, from Georgia, and defensive back Myles Slusher from Colorado and Arkansas.

The Boilers will host four transfer targets this summer, including a 2026 three-star defensive back. Matt Painter, the team’s head coach, has also secured several key transfers, including Oscar Cluff from South Dakota State and Omer Mayer, a top-fifty freshman who played in the Euroleague.

Purdue will face a challenging conference schedule, with home games against Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The team will get to play at home against Indiana, a protected rivalry, but will need to bounce back after losing for the second time in its last three trips to Assembly Hall.

The Boilers have also had success on the road, beating Iowa twice in the last four years and defeating Wisconsin 94-84 just once. However, the team will face new challenges this season with the departure of head coach Fran McCaffery at Iowa and the introduction of new coaches at both programs.

Purdue’s seniors, including Big Ten Player of the Year and 1st All-American Braden Smith, are looking to win their third straight Big Ten title and make a deep run in the NCAA tournament. The team has already added several key transfers, including Cluff and Mayer, which will help bolster its roster.

The Boilers will play three games at home and on the road: Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The team’s west coast trip will feature games against Oregon and Washington, as well as UCLA and USC for the first time in Big Ten history.

If Purdue wins at Northwestern, at UCLA, and at USC, it would have won at all 18 Big Ten venues just two years into the conference’s western expansion. The senior class is looking to make historic strides and return to the Final Four, hosted just an hour south of Purdue’s campus.
