Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa 2 The Rule has kicked off with a bang, grossing over Rs 28 crore at the box office. According to early estimates, the film is expected to earn between Rs 250-Rs 300 crore globally on its opening day.
The film premiered in select cities last night and morning shows started as early as 4:30 am on Thursday, with some special shows allowed by the Telangana government. These premium shows sold tickets at a high price, with a maximum hike of up to Rs 800 for the first show.
Advance bookings in India showed excellent numbers, with nearly 32 lakh tickets sold for about 32,000 shows. BookMyShow reported that over 3 million tickets have been sold as of Thursday. While some evening and night screenings are filling fast, day-time slots still have available seats.
The film has received a positive response since its release, with many praising the second half of the movie. Made on a budget of Rs 400 crore, Pushpa 2 The Rule is released in multiple languages and has been made to last three hours and twenty minutes.
With a strong start like this, Pushpa 2 is all set to become one of the biggest hits of the year.
