Russia has dispatched several emergency planes to Iran to assist in the aftermath of a devastating blast at Iran’s port of Bandar Abbas. President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, offering help to Iran in dealing with the disaster.
Two Russian aircraft are being sent: a Beriev Be-200 amphibious plane for firefighting and an Ilyushin Il-76 military transport plane. The blast, reportedly caused by an explosion of chemical materials, has left at least 25 people dead and over 700 injured.
Iran’s largest port, Bandar Abbas, was affected by the blast on Saturday. Putin conveyed his sympathy to those affected, wishing recovery for all those injured.
