Queen Camilla, 77, recently hosted a star-studded party at the National Theatre in London’s Buckingham Palace. The guest list included Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, Andrew Garfield, and James Corden. Camilla, who is a patron of the theatre, brought together famous faces for an evening of entertainment.
During the event, actress Sharon D. Clarke was in character as Lady Bracknell from The Importance of Being Earnest, and was joined by Ncuti Gatwa and Hugh Skinner on stage. Queen Camilla was delighted with the performance, saying it was her favorite play.
After the show, Camilla mingled with guests, including Lesley Manville and Jim Carter, and praised Clarke’s portrayal of Lady Bracknell. The Queen also spoke about her own connections to the theatre, recalling a recording session she did with King Charles in 2020.
National Theatre chairman Sir Damon Buffini thanked Camilla for her support, saying it meant a lot to the theatre. The evening was clearly enjoyable for everyone involved, and Camilla left feeling happy after attending a “very lovely occasion.”
