Queen Latifah’s ‘The Equalizer’ Canceled After 5 Seasons

CBS has announced that its drama series “The Equalizer” starring Queen Latifah will not be renewed for a sixth season after five seasons on the air. The show’s finale, titled “Decisions,” will air on May 4 and mark the end of the series.

Queen Latifah played the role of former CIA operative Robyn McCall, who uses her skills to help those in need. Despite being a fan favorite, with 47% of fans voting for its return in a USA TODAY readers’ poll, the show will not be returning.

However, Queen Latifah has reassured fans that she is already working on new projects and expressed gratitude to her “ride-or-die” fans who supported the series throughout its run. The news marks another change in CBS’s programming slate, which includes the cancellation of other shows like “S.W.A.T.” and the introduction of new series such as “Boston Blue” and “DMV”.
