Apple TV+ has landed Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan to star in the next season of its legal thriller series Presumed Innocent. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel actress will also serve as an executive producer alongside David E. Kelley and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot production company.
The second season is inspired by a novel by Jo Murray, set for publication in July 2026. The plot details are being kept under wraps, but the show’s premise follows a young lawyer defending the accused killer of a respected judge. Brosnahan joins an ensemble cast that includes Jake Gyllenhaal, who will remain an executive producer on season two.
Kelley and Erica Lipez will co-showrun the series with Abrams, Rachel Rusch Rich, Matthew Tinker, Dustin Thomason, and Brosnahan as part of the executive producing team. Scott Turow, author of the novel that inspired the first season, is also a co-executive producer.
