Rachel Brosnahan to Star in Season 2 of Presumed Innocent

Renowned actress Rachel Brosnahan, known for her role as Midge Maisel in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, is set to take on the lead role in Apple’s legal drama Presumed Innocent for its second season. Brosnahan will not only star but also serve as an executive producer.

The show, created by multi-Emmy Award winners David E. Kelley and J.J. Abrams, explores themes of obsession, sex, politics, and love. Season 1 was inspired by Scott Turow’s courtroom thriller of the same name and follows a horrific murder that rocks the Chicago Prosecuting Attorneys’ office.

Brosnahan’s character will be reimagined to delve deeper into these complex themes. The showrunner for season two is David E. Kelley, who also executive produces alongside Erica Lipez. Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich also serve as executive producers through their respective production companies.

Season 1 starred Jake Gyllenhaal, who will return as executive producer for the upcoming season under his Nine Stories banner. Scott Turow, author of the original novel, co-executive produces the show.

Brosnahan is represented by CAA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Schreck Rose Dapello.
