Rachel Zegler Sings ‘Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina’ to London Crowd Outside Theater

Rachel Zegler is giving a special performance of “Evita” in London by singing “Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina” to the crowd outside the Palladium theater. The show’s composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, says this moment adds to the musical’s theatricality and is fitting for Eva Perón’s character.

The event has sparked mixed reactions among ticketholders who paid up to $330 for a seat inside. Director Jamie Lloyd used a similar technique in previous productions, such as having characters sing outside the theater in “Sunset Boulevard” and on the roof of the theater in “Romeo and Juliet.” However, some fans feel it’s not worth giving up their ticket money.

Lloyd Webber counters that this gesture aligns with Eva Perón’s values and allows more people to experience her iconic song.
