Ralph Lauren’s “Modern Romantics” Collection Brings Family Heirlooms to the Forefront

Ralph Lauren brought his latest womenswear collection, “The Modern Romantics,” to life at a packed Jack Shainman Gallery in New York City. The show, which celebrated individual style and timeless sophistication, featured a mix of classic and bohemian pieces that reflected Lauren’s signature craftsmanship.

Designs such as Victorian collars beneath barn jackets, leather bustiers with riding boots, and frilly dresses with dark floral prints dominated the runway. The finale gown with a mermaid tail was one of the most experimental looks from the designer in recent memory.

Despite challenges in the luxury sector due to geopolitical tensions, Ralph Lauren continues to thrive. In 2024, sales rose 11 percent to $2.1 billion, and the company has raised its outlook for 2025 full-year revenue. CEO Patrice Louvet emphasized the brand’s resilience in a volatile environment and its focus on maintaining a consistent presence in customers’ lives.

To appeal to younger generations, Ralph Lauren is investing in experiences such as Ralph’s Coffee, which reaches 4 million people annually. The brand has also expanded into sports sponsorships and partnerships, including its upcoming Winter Olympics sponsorship. Louvet believes consistency is key, saying the brand must always be present in marketing efforts, unlike other brands that only appear briefly before going quiet again.

With “The Modern Romantics” collection, Ralph Lauren celebrates individual style and timeless sophistication while embracing a more eclectic approach to design. The result is a collection that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking, appealing to all ages from 80-year-olds to younger generations.
