Ram Revives Hemi V-8, Unveils ‘Symbol of Protest’ Badge

Ram has officially announced the return of its iconic 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine in the 2026 model year. The engine will be available on the 1500 pickup truck and comes unchanged from previous years.

The new Ram trucks equipped with a Hemi will feature a badge dubbed “Symbol of Protest” on the front fenders. The design team created this unique badge, featuring a ram’s head attached to the front of the Hemi engine block, complete with individual exhaust tubes.

While the significance of the badge is unclear, it’s likely meant to promote the V-8 engine and its distinct sound and torque. Ram is marketing the move as a response to consumer demand, which has been evident in recent years.

The company plans to heavily feature the Hemi engine and “Symbol of Protest” badge in promotional materials, including an upcoming NASCAR event where winners will receive t-shirts for staying on the mechanical bull long enough. This strategy aims to capitalize on growing interest in V-8 engines.

Ram’s decision to revive the Hemi comes after a year-long absence, but it appears to be a successful move, as indicated by high demand and enthusiasm from consumers.
