Rams Give Matthew Stafford Agent Permission to Negotiate Contract

The Los Angeles Rams have granted quarterback Matthew Stafford’s agent permission to explore contract negotiations with other teams, according to a source confirmed by ESPN on Saturday.

This move comes after the team and Stafford discussed reworking his current contract, which was agreed upon in March 2022. The extension includes two seasons left, with $4 million guaranteed in 2025 but no guarantee for 2026.

Stafford, 37, has consistently performed well since joining the Rams, showcasing his ability to shine on the biggest stages. In the seven playoff games he’s played for the team, he has given his teammates a chance every time they step onto the field.

The news comes after Stafford had an impressive season last year, completing 65.8% of his passes for 3,762 yards and 20 touchdowns with eight interceptions in 16 games.
