The Los Angeles Rams secured their fourth consecutive win by defeating the New York Jets 19-9 at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. Running back Kyren Williams contributed 23 carries for 122 yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Matthew Stafford found tight end Tyler Higbee for the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter.
Despite being forced to punt after their opening drive, the Rams’ defense held strong, forcing two key turnovers that swung the momentum in their favor. Safety Kam Curl’s fumble recovery gave the Rams possession at the Jets 21-yard line, setting up Stafford’s game-sealing touchdown pass to Higbee. The win improves the Rams’ record to 9-6.
The Jets scored first with a 99-yard drive capped off by an 11-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Justin Rodgers to wide receiver Garrett Adams. Los Angeles responded with a touchdown run by Kyren Williams, tying the game at 6-6. A missed point-after try and two field goals from kicker Anders Carlson gave the Jets a 9-6 halftime lead.
However, the Rams defense came up big in the second half, forcing several key stops that helped secure their victory. With just over a minute left in the fourth quarter, Stafford found Higbee for an 11-yard touchdown pass to take a 16-9 lead. The Jets attempted a game-tying field goal but were unable to capitalize, allowing the Rams to run out the clock and secure the win.
