A civil lawsuit has been filed against Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z, two of the most influential figures in hip-hop, alleging that they raped a 13-year-old girl at an afterparty for the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The plaintiff, Jane Doe, claims she was lured to the party by a limousine driver who told her Diddy liked younger girls and was “fit what Diddy was looking for.”
According to the complaint, Combs allegedly had a “crazed look in his eyes” when he approached the girl, telling her, “You are ready to party.” The accuser further alleged that Combs then threw her toward a wall, causing her to fall. Jay-Z is accused of raping the girl after Combs finished, while both men watched.
Jane Doe’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, has previously announced that he is representing over 100 people accusing Combs of misconduct. The amended complaint was filed on December 8 and names Jay-Z, who has defended himself against the allegations in a statement, saying he will have to sit his children down to explain the cruelty and greed of those making these claims.
Jay-Z’s lawyer has asked the court to dismiss the case and reveal the accuser’s identity, claiming it is “sensationalized” and “publicity-hunting.” Combs’ attorneys have denied the allegations, calling them a “shameless publicity stunt” designed to extract payments from celebrities.
