Rapper Snoop Dogg will perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration events, including the first-ever “Crypto Ball” hosted by incoming White House AI and “Crypto Czar” David Sacks. This marks a significant shift for Snoop Dogg, who previously criticized Trump and his supporters.
Snoop Dogg performed at the Crypto Ball on Friday night, singing hits like “Drop It Like It’s Hot” while DJing crowd-pleasers from Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” to Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds.” Fellow rapper Rick Ross also attended the event. Grammy Award-winning artist Nelly will perform at the Inaugural Liberty Ball on Monday.
Snoop Dogg’s relationship with Trump has evolved over the years, including a controversy in 2017 where he released a music video featuring a Trump-inspired clown character. However, after Trump commuted Michael “Harry-O” Harris’ prison sentence, Snoop Dogg shifted his stance and expressed admiration for the president-elect.
Nelly will also perform at the Inaugural Liberty Ball, one of three official inaugural celebrations on Monday. The event’s performers include country star Carrie Underwood and opera singer Christopher Macchio.
Trump supporters have welcomed the news, while others are disappointed in Snoop Dogg and Nelly for performing at Trump’s events.
