Rare Moon-Mars Conjunction Visible Online Live

A rare celestial event is happening on February 9, 2025. The almost full Moon will pass close to the bright planet Mars in the sky, with both objects shining within half a degree of each other. This conjunction can be viewed live online by anyone with an internet connection.

The Virtual Telescope Project has organized a free viewing session, which is scheduled to begin at 19:00 UT on February 9. The event will take place regardless of weather conditions. To join, simply visit the project’s webTV page at the specified time.

It’s worth noting that Mars is approximately 280 times farther away from Earth than the Moon, but the two objects will appear close to each other in the sky due to their similar brightness levels. The event will be broadcast live online for everyone to enjoy.
