A rare copy of the Tsukihime Trial Edition demo disk was severely damaged when it arrived at its destination. The original Windows 95/98 demo floppy disk was twisted and torn into shards, rendering it unusable.
The game is a highly sought-after artifact among collectors, with only 50 copies ever produced. Keripo, a collector, received the game but found that US Customs had removed all bubble wrap and intentionally damaged the floppy disk. Despite efforts to file a report, Keripo plans to buy another copy if they see it for sale online.
The reason behind the damage is unclear, but some speculate that the “adults only” notice on the game artwork may have triggered the actions of customs officials. However, there is no evidence to support this claim, and it’s unlikely that Keripo will pursue the matter further.
Fortunately, digital copies of the game are available online, allowing collectors to access the game despite the physical damage. The incident highlights the fragility of rare artifacts in the hands of untrained individuals and the importance of proper packaging and handling.
