This Sunday, the infamous Razzie Awards will honor the “worst” films of 2024. Sony’s superhero film “Madame Web” took home three Razzies, including worst picture, actress for Dakota Johnson, and screenplay.
The Razzie Awards are often seen as the opposite of the prestigious Oscars. “Joker: Folie à Deux,” another divisive superhero entry, led with seven nominations but won only two awards, including screen combo for Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.
Francis Ford Coppola received two wins, including best director for his big-budget epic “Megalopolis.” Jon Voight also took home an award for supporting actor in the film.
Coppola expressed his gratitude for the Razzie Awards on Instagram, stating that “box office is only about money” and that he chose to create a film outside of industry trends. He praised fellow filmmaker Jacques Tati, who made the beloved but commercially unsuccessful film “Playtime.”
