Reality TV star Peter Anthony Thomas has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to failing to pay employee taxes. The sentence follows an investigation into Thomas’ failure to remit over $2.5 million in unpaid taxes, which included withholding amounts from his employees at three bars – Sports One Bar and Lounge in Charlotte, Bar One Miami Beach, and Bar One Baltimore.
Thomas, who starred on Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” used the money for personal expenses such as cash withdrawals, travel, real estate purchases, and luxury retail items. The IRS also alleged that Thomas transferred millions between his businesses.
The 63-year-old will serve his prison term followed by two years of supervised release after being sentenced by a federal judge on Thursday.
